Lorcana Judge Program - Complete Guide

The Lorcana Judge Program is designed to train and certify competent judges at different levels. This guide details the complete pathway, from admission requirements to the requirements for each certification level.

🚪 Platform Usage Prerequisites

Before beginning your journey in the judge program, you must meet the following requirements:

Register on the platform
Submit an exam request in the dedicated tab
Be at least 18 years old
Adhere to the principles of conduct defined by the game publisher

🛤️ Certification Path

+ Apprentice: Lorekeeper (Rules Advisor)

Certification Requirements

Qualification Test: 20 questions in 20 minutes
- • Content: Basic mechanics, basic interactions, basic understanding
- • Success threshold: 90%
- • In case of failure:
  - - First failure: 30-day waiting period
  - - Second failure: 90-day waiting period
  - - Third failure: 6-month waiting period
- • Limit: Maximum 3 attempts per year
Additional requirement: Provide your Discord profile in your candidate area and join the Lorcana Judge FR Discord server

Annual Maintenance

Participation: At least 2 events as a player or apprentice
Continuing education: Pass an annual maintenance test covering the latest game mechanics

Note: Annual maintenance requires individual updating and is not automatically verified by the system.

1 Level 1: L1 (Local Judge)

Prerequisites

• Hold the Lorekeeper badge

Certification Requirements

Advanced test:
- • Content: Game mechanics, documentation comprehension, situation analysis, simple conduct policies
Community contribution (one of the following options):
- • Write a review validated by an Exam Proctor
- • Make a publication in the judging and rules domain (after contacting the administrator)
Personal development:
- • Obtain a recommendation from an Exam Proctor or L2+
Additional requirement: Join the Lorcana Judge FR Discord server

Annual Maintenance

Practice: Judge at least 2 events during the year
Community contribution and development (one of the following options):
- • Write 1 review for other judges
- • Obtain 1 review from another judge or TO
- • Make 1 publication in the judging domain
Continuing education: Pass the L1 maintenance test

Note: All reviews and publications must be validated by an Exam Proctor before being counted.

2 Level 2: L2 (Regional Judge)

Prerequisites

• Hold the L1 badge

Certification Requirements

Expert test:
- • Content: Advanced mechanics, in-depth documentation, complex situations, leadership, customer service, conduct policies
Community contribution: All of the following:
- • Write 1 review for another judge observed during an event
- • Write 1 self-review covering your skills in: conflict management, teamwork, customer service during a judge call
Practical field evaluation: Obtain an advancement recommendation from an L2+ judge during an event with at least 6 Swiss rounds

Annual Maintenance

Advanced practice:
- • Judge at least 2 events during the year
- • Be Head Judge of at least 1 competitive tournament (can include one of the previously mentioned events)
Community development (one of the following options):
- • Obtain 1 review from another judge
- • Make 1 publication in the judging domain
Ongoing contribution: Write 1 review for other judges
Continuing education: Pass the L2 maintenance test

Higher Levels

3 L3 (Elite Judge)

The precise requirements for this level are under development. This level represents an in-depth mastery of the rules, advanced leadership skills, and significant contribution to the judging community.

4 L4 (Consultant Judge)

The highest level of the program, reserved for experts who shape the future of Lorcana judging. Precise criteria will be defined by the management committee.

The requirements for these levels are provisional and will be defined more precisely by the management committee that will be established later.

📝 How to request certification or maintenance

Go to the Requests & Reviews tab
Select the My Requests tab
Click on Exam Request
Choose the corresponding option (Certification or Maintenance)
Complete the form with all the required information according to your level

⚠️ Important:

Make sure you have all the necessary elements before submitting your request (reviews, links to publications, recommendations, etc.). An incomplete file will delay the processing of your request.

Note: All reviews and publications must be validated by an Exam Proctor before being counted.

Click on the exam once it has been assigned to you

Click on "Start Exam" when you are ready
